feste_sylvainI am not at work yet. Because this morning, my younger just had her "Moving Up" ceremony.
In the Montessori system, kids are not packed into a class with only peers of the same age; they are put in three-year blocks. Kids are expected to teach younger kids (altho, with the occasional little genius, the reverse sometimes happens). And at the end of the year, the eldest kids "move up" a block (in my daughter's case, from "Lower Elementary" to "Upper Elementary").

This is my little girl! Not so little anymore! A big step!

tamidon is on her (literally) second day on her new job, I took her camera to record a few images of the event. I hope they came out okay; they looked okay to me.
We were all under a large "event tent", which kept the rain off. But as the principal said, "I'm sorry we didn't have the foresight to provide blankets". The rain really cooled things off. My younger was wearing a quasi-formal outfit which she has worn to weddings and the like, but this is probably the last event for it. She's growing.
