n2mlq came to our house tonite and completely re-cabled the Home Entertainment System. We now have all five speakers working, and the DVD player is once again hooked up to the TV monitor. We lost remote volume control in the process, but that may be fixed by expanding the universal remote (maybe).
I'm afraid that the quantities of dust that got kicked up pushed my right over my allergic edge, so I probably came across as gruff and ungrateful. I would like to correct that impression publicly: thank you very much for combing that horrific spaghetti. Thank you for connecting a modern pre-amp to the previous generation's monitor. Thank you for tagging the cables, so that whatever comes next can identify what came before. And thank you for being patient with me.
