Marian Call
Oct. 22nd, 2010 07:17 amSure, many of you know Jonathan Coulton, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and other geek musicians (like "Paul & Storm"), but how many of you know Marian Call?
1, 2, 3, okay, three of you. Very good.
But for the rest, she's a geek musician of such standing, she's standing in for Wil Wheaton on the latest w00tstock tour here in the Boston area.
And then, on November 1, she's the guest of honor at "Skeptics in the Pub" at Tommy Doyles (96 Winthrop Street, Cambridge).
This song of hers literally made me laugh out loud the first time I heard it:
Is she, or am I, just that mean-spirited? Of course not. But hey, as the wise man once said, comedy is not pretty. But she is. And so is her music.
[ETA:] Ooo, here's another good one! "I'll Still Be a Geek After Nobody Thinks It's Chic":
