alyveritya is now all moved into her dorm. She was fearing being placed back in the same building as last year, the building with the stupid heat distribution issues, and the bunk-beds right next to the ceiling. But instead, she got her first choice of dorms, and she's in a single room. As a sophomore.

So yeah, she's happy about that.

She was also making teen angst moanings about going back to school, but once she was there, she immediately connected with her buds, who immediately took over a particular easy-chair-filled corner of a hall in the art building. She has a friend who's a junior who was all jealous over my girl's schedule (modulo its lack of free period on Monday).

As for me, I spent a large amount of the day in her dorm room getting her computer overhauled. Her roommate from last year really munged it up, borrowing it without permission, installing all sorts of programs on it in Korean, and a few other horrible reconfigurations. But I got the anti-virals running, her network properly configured, and four months' worth of updates installed (which required no fewer than 3 reboots).

And we've already made two extra trips to bring her things that she forgot to pack. But at least she remembered to pack her stuffed animals, "because they're important".

The house is already quieter.
