tamidon's Birthday Stove!
May. 11th, 2010 02:38 pmRather than register at a reputable online store, where one of you can buy tamidon a new stove for her birthday, we have created this splufty "Donate" button where all of you who love her and her cooking can "Donate" to her birthday stove!
(Backstory: we have a stove. It came with the house. It was old when we bought it, and it has been losing burners and oven temperature correctness. For a chef, this is what they professionally call a "Bad Thing", except that the technical term uses a few other words which vary with the degree of the problem. The stove is giving signs that it is going the Way of All Things. And I think we can all agree that fortamidon to go without a stove would be a Bad Thing.)
So, by my back-of-the-envelope calculations, if everyone who wants to givetamidon a birthday card instead donated that much money to this Fund, she would be able to get a new stove! And if some people gave a bit more, she'd be able to get the stove she wants!
Yay!
