Local Business in Bad Straits
Apr. 5th, 2010 02:19 pmThe Agway near us is on the wrong side of the culvert collapse. While they are a full Agway, supplying local farmers and amateurs like us (and our chicken coop), they are suburbanly located, and thus depend strongly on gardeners for their spring business.
The collapsed culvert is emphatically screwing them over.
We don't garden, but we have friends in the area who do. If that's you, please visit them from the west. Either go some back route to Groton and come east on 119, or take Rte. 225 to Rte. 119 and come back east.
(No, don't use Google Maps to find directions if you're east of us, as they'll try to take you over the broken culvert, which your vehicle can't do even if the cops were to let you, which they won't.)
I think we'll bring our propane tanks over to them early this year, as they're also where we refill our grill and mosquito-magnet tanks. What with all the standing water, mosquitoes are predicted to be very nasty this year.
