I was going to post about the forecast for lousy weather at SPAC this weekend, but something else came up:

Philadelphia Phillies ace Brett Myers was arrested in Boston today for striking his wife in public. Like too many domestic abuse cases, it was his wife who posted his $200 bond.

But the award for Unbelievably Naive Statement of the Day goes to his manager, Charlie Manuel, who said that he doesn't expect Myers or the team to be distracted.

No?

Let's see how well Myers pitches as 32,000 Red Sox fans are chanting "You! Beat! Your! Wife!"

Wil Cordero couldn't take it, and he was on the Red Sox at the time.
