A Saturday Unlike Any Other

But maybe like yours...

After moving the sectional into its corner so that the Efficient Furniture Delivery Guys could place the new big honking red sofa (with matching ottoman!) into its place, I showered and then took my younger to see Hyperion Theatre's jazz age version of "Twelfth Night", along with [livejournal.com profile] shadesong, [livejournal.com profile] yendi, and their Miss Kid. I'm happy to say that my younger loved the show (despite it being a little long for her nine-year-old attention span), and particularly loved the character of Sir Toby Belch. The drunk. Oh, I'm going to have to keep an eye on this girl.

We returned in time to join my elder and [livejournal.com profile] tamidon in going to [livejournal.com profile] kirkcudbright and [livejournal.com profile] wereterrier's April party. The rumors that may have reached you are true: my lovely wife brought both a semifredo (made with chocolate cake, Double Rainbow vanilla ice cream, and raspberries) and candied bacon. And, being who she is, she's already figuring out how to improve the candied bacon recipe. Not that anyone at the party believed it could possibly get any better; it was rapidly consumed. The party was otherwise low-key and delightful.

My elder ([livejournal.com profile] alyveritya) was delivered to her school trip to Colorado at 3am by [livejournal.com profile] tamidon, complete with the movie "Juno" on her iPod to watch on the plane, coming or going. I frankly doubt that she'll be awake enough for the first leg of the trip to watch it.

Today: probably Speed Racer, which I expect to have lysergic adrenalin and no plot.
